Q: What about food?
A: It’s always a good idea to bring snacks, but there are also two food vendors on-site: Ca’Puccini Café and Pita Express in Arts Commons, as well as Tim Hortons, A&W, Rosso Coffee, Second Cup, and Good Earth within a block’s walking distance of Olympic Plaza.

Q. Which entrance to Arts Commons should I use?
A. The Martha Cohen Theatre, Jack Singer Concert Hall, Big Secret Theatre, and Motel Theatre are all most conveniently accessed from 8th Avenue on the Olympic Plaza side of the building. If you are attending a show at Max Bell Theatre, the entrance at the corner of MacLeod Trail North and 9th Avenue is the most direct route. The Engineered Air Theatre is accessed on 9th Avenue near the corner of MacLeod Trail, and the Stage Door Theatre can only be reached by entering the Stage Door entrance on 9th Avenue.

Q. What should I bring with me?
A. Although our performances and storytelling activities are indoors, there are many activities out on the plaza including face-painting, outdoor performances, crafts, and roving performers. Be prepared by packing sunscreen and hats for the sunny weather, and raincoats and warmer clothes in case of rain. It’s a good idea to pack snacks and a water bottle as well.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: “The show must go on!” So don’t let weather, even rain, keep your group away. Our tents are fully covered to help you stay dry. If the weather is severe, most outdoor activities will be moved indoors to the Telus Convention Centre. There will be information on Twitter (@yyckidsfest) about any location changes, and Kidsfest volunteers will also give you directions on site.
